Summary

My three-month study abroad experience in Kamloops, Canada, was an extremely valuable and fulfilling one. Kamloops is a small town surrounded by nature, where I was able to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and the warmth of friendly people.

During this study abroad, I not only focused on my studies but also participated in various activities such as fieldwork. The classes were centered around presentations and discussions, which gave me plenty of opportunities to speak in English. In addition to improving my English, I found the courses like Canadian Studies and Intercultural Communications particularly helpful in broadening my perspective by learning about different cultures. In terms of daily life, I spent my weekends actively, going shopping with friends, attending parties, and having picnics. As a class, we also had the chance to experience wine tours, hockey games, and hiking, which provided us with a variety of enriching experiences. Throughout the three months, I truly had a fulfilling time. I also enjoyed exploring Canadian food culture. My host family made a different dish every day, allowing me to experience the real food habits of Canadians. One of my favorites was chicken noodle soup, which had short noodles in the soup and was incredibly delicious. For my fieldwork, I volunteered at a kindergarten for about two months. Working abroad was a truly valuable experience, and I feel it was a wonderful opportunity.

Overall, my study abroad experience in Kamloops helped me grow not only in terms of my English skills but also as a person. The cultural exchange and warm interactions with people made my time abroad even more enriching. This experience will be a great asset to my future life.
